Alhaji Limuna directed the Kassena-Nankana West District Chief Executive (DCE), Thomas Dalu to read his speech to the teachers and also relay his frustration to them.
The DCE said, “The Regional Minister was here at the time he was given, and yet the very people who were the reason why he came from Bolgatanga were not here. This depicts what you’re doing to the children in your classrooms. What values are you teaching the children entrusted in your care.
“How can you be late for an important event like this with such embarrassment? This is what the Minister asked me to tell you before he left here angrily.”
Mr Dalu, who read the speech of Alhaji Limuna, said government appreciates the contribution of teachers to national development and was prepared to support them in any way possible to enable them teach happily and proudly.
According to him, while many teachers are seriously imparting knowledge and good morals to their students, a few teachers had adopted measures to dent the image of most teachers.

“We are aware of absenteeism, lateness, drunkenness, litigation and excessive inclination to political activities at the expense of your official duties… let me quickly stress that this government will not condone any activity that will destroy the development of any group of Ghanaians,” he added.
