Co-Tenant Kills Man

A 45-year-old man met his untimely death last Saturday at North Kaneshie, when his co- tenant gave him a heavy blow in the head with his fist after a brief misunderstanding.
The deceased only known as Kofi Old Man, unemployed, fell unconscious after the heavy blow and was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment but he passed on shortly on arrival at the health facility.
This led to the arrest of Emmanuel Dugbenu, the co-tenant who is also a worker at the Royale Gold Casino, Osu, by the Kaneshie District Police.
Suspect Emmanuel is currently in cells assisting police in their investigations.
Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent Frank Adufati, the Accra Regional Crime Officer said suspect Emmanuel Dugbenu and the deceased, Kofi Old Man, lived in the same house at North Kaneshie.
Around 6:00pm of Saturday July 6, 2013, suspect Emmanuel Dugbenu returned home from work and detected that his television pole had been pulled down.
Emmanuel immediately suspect Kofi Old Man to be the person who pulled it down and confronted him over the matter.
Kofi became offended and this resulted in a misunderstanding and later, a scuffle, between the two.
In the process, Emmanuel gave Kofi one big blow, landing him on the floor unconscious.
Kofi, who was then heavily drunk, was immediately revived by the suspect Emmanuel and some co-tenants in the house.
Early the following morning, Kofi was found lying in the middle of the compound unconscious, and was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.
On arrival at the hospital, however, Kofi Old Man died before doctors could attend to him.
The body has been deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
