The Bank of Ghana has announced it would soon introduce new 50 Cedi notes onto the market with a set of new features.
This, the Central Bank says, is to prevent fraudsters from producing counterfeits of the currency.
The announcement was made by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana Kwesi Amissah-Arthur today when he met some journalists.
According to the Central Bank, the new notes will have a new set of features from the existing one but the colour would practically be the same.
The Governor said two people have been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for attempting to produce counterfeit of the 50 Cedi notes.
