President Mahama met the workers behind closed doors and promised to revamp the railway sector for transportation improvement.
President Mahama said, “we are going to work to put the railway company back on its feet.
“Clearly, there is no country in this world that has developed without an effective railway system. If Ghana is to move to the next level as a proper middle income country, then we should put the railway back to work. T hat is exactly what we are going to do’’

The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, Kofi Asamoah, was present and he also said, ’’We all know the importance of rail transport to any economic development of every country. If we have an effective railway system, then it can really facilitate the movement of goods and services and persons.
