The Coalition of Ghanaians against Electoral Fraud is advising the current Vice President Mr Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur to stop interfering and attempting to pervert the course of justice in the on going Supreme court petition against the Electoral Commission and John Dramani Mahama on malpractices, irregularities, omissions and other fraudulent ,criminal acts that occurred before ,during and after the 2012 General Elections.
We have received credible information from sources within the judiciary and the security agencies that Mr Amissah Arthur has been visiting the residence of one of the Judges on the panel, namely Mrs Jusitce Vida Akoto Bamfo in an effort to get her support and for her to convince and influence other judges the panel to drop the case or rule in favour of the respondents.
Our evidence denotes that last week Saturday 25th of May, at 2pm ,the Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur visited the home of Mrs Vida Akoto Bamfo at Labone and was there for one and a half hours in a effort to convince her to support the respondents.
We believe this action by the Vice President is tantamount to sabotaging the case and bringing the executive and all institutions of state connected with this case into disrepute to satisfy a depraved and craving lust for power. This is an abuse of power and privilege and we are sending a clear message to the Vice President: Stop being a messenger and an errand boy and be a responsible Vice President. Stop your secret visits to influence judges or you will face the wrath and anger of the people of Ghana.
We are also aware of plans by some senior members of the ruling National Democratic Congress who are financially influencing some presenters and journalists who work and normally run programmes at the following media houses, Adom Fm ,Radio XYZ ,Radio Gold, Montie FM , Pravda Radio in Accra as well as Ghanawaves radio in Holland to discredit and launch a series of vicious attacks on the presiding Judge Honourable Justice William Atuguba in the hope that the judge will get fed up and say he is rescuing himself. They think these devilish actions will lead to a collapse of the trial. We wish to assure them that these plans will come to nothing!
We call on all Ghanaians everywhere to stand firm and be resolute, pray and support all the nine justices of the Supreme court to deliver a firm, fair and just decision.
Ghanaians like the current Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur who wish to undermine the peace and unity of Ghana as a nation state will be consumed and swept away into the dustbin of history .
