POLICE IN Obuasi have arrested 10 suspected Chinese illegal miners who attempted to outwit security agents conducting special operations to rid  the country of the menace of ‘galamsey’ activities.
Pang Hong Cheng, 30, Yang De Quing, 23, Zhang Qa Wen, 31, Li Jian Dong, 43, Lu Mei Guang, 52, Wei Jian Zhong, 53, Wei Yao Zhong, 38, Meng Li Chao, 48, Luo Yung Yo, 23, and Cheng Qing Min, 49, were all arrested at their hide-out in a hotel in the golden city.
A police source, which hinted DAILY GUIDE of the arrest, said five pump action guns were retrieved from the illegal Chinese miners.
According to the police, the galamsey operators, being aware of the ongoing national operation by the inter-ministerial taskforce, decided to avoid the security agents and hid themselves in the hotel
However, they have since been arrested and handed over to the immigration service for action.
