AN EARLY morning fire outbreak which occurred yesterday at Suame Magazine, an industrial hub in Kumasi, has consumed eight mechanic shops, a corn mill machine and four cars brought to the place for servicing by their owners.
This follows an earlier reported fire incident in Accra that had gutted portions of the second floor of a two-storey building belonging to LETAP Pharmaceuticals.
The latest fire outbreak in Kumasi, which witnesses said began at about 2am, also razed down containers and destroyed welding machines and several equipment belonging to the mechanics.
It took fire fighters of the Ghana National Fire Service in the city and sympathizers close to two hours to put out the blaze, DAILY GUIDEgathered.
The flames were believed to have been triggered by electricity power fluctuation in the area, which caused the corm milling machine to spark fire.
One of the eye witnesses explained to DAILY GUIDE that the fire started immediately the power holding company, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), restored power supply to the area after a power outage.
The ruins of the damaged property belonging to the victims still littered the ground when the paper visited the area.
Some of the victims described the situation as pathetic because all the cars belonged to their customers.
