The CEO of Wa All Stars Oduro Nyarko has touted the integrity of the GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, stressing that the latter hates corruption and thievery.
This declaration followed corruption charges leveled against Mr Nyantakyi by Takyi Arhin, chief of relegation-threatened Berekum Arsenals.
Mr Arhin believed the FA boss’s direct involvement in the affairs of Wa All Stars as its president had to a large extent influenced the outcome of matches involving the club.
He said on Happy FM a few days ago that Nyantakyi’s presence at All Stars matches favoured the team, by virtue of the fact that he was the GFA boss.
“A whole CEO of Wa All Stars claims he doesn’t take bribe, but we have seen bags of groundnuts and sacks full of cow feet in cars of referees. Is this not a form of inducement and tantamount to bribery?” Arhin quizzed.
“…Nyantakyi’s presence at matches involving his team and other teams have always gone in his team’s favour,” he added.
But All Stars CEO Oduro Nyarko rubbished Arhin’s claims saying they were baseless and very derogatory, taking into account Nyantakyi’s position and what he stood for, which was fairness.
Oduro Nyarko indicated, “He is accusing this man of what he is not. Nyantakyi is a respectable person, a man of integrity, president of the country’s football governing body as well as a CAF Executive Committee member.
“Nyantakyi hates corruption and thievery, and so why this false allegation? I am an elderly person and If I should hear Takyi Arhin make such allegations again, he will…? he paused midstream.
The All Stars CEO attributed his side’s exploits in the second round of the league to proper planning and hard work saying, “I gave up the chance to watch the last Nations Cup in order to turn things around in my team, while some club officials were holidaying in South Africa.
“We recorded 16 points from 15 games in the first round, an average of a point in a game, but the story is different after the break. We have managed 18 points from just eight games. If you strategize well, your team will excel,” said Oduro Nyarko.
All Stars are seventh on the league table after amassing 33points, while Arsenals are 15th on the 16-team table with 21 points with six games more to close the 2012/13 league season.
