General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie says he is sad because of the difficult situation that his ‘good friend’ Johnson Asiedu Nketia finds himself.
He said he was unhappy that Asiedu Nketia, affectionately called ‘General Mosquito,’ failed to effectively utter words during cross-examination.
The NPP scribe said his counterpart in the NDC has become a laughing stock due to his abysmal performance at the Supreme Court.
Asiedu Nketia is representing President Mahama at the Supreme Court in a case in which Nana Addo Akufo-Addo and two other NPP bigwigs are contesting the presidential results of the 2012 polls.
The NPP General Secretary, popularly called ‘Sir John,’ opined that the NDC scribe struggled to breath during cross-examination.
Sir John opined that General Mosquito exposed his weakness, especially in mathematics to the entire world, saying the NDC scribe even failed to excel when he was led in evidence by the NDC’s lead counsel Tsatsu Tsikata.
He said General Mosquito made a mistake by accepting the enormous responsibility to represent the President in court.
Speaking on radio, the NPP scribe said General Mosquito would lose a lot of respect among the citizenry after the court case.
Sir John said he doesn’t expect Asiedu Nketia to excel in the court room, indicating that the NDC scribe’s initial performance in court last Thursday clearly indicated that he was not the right person to represent the president.
Meanwhile, Yaw Boateng Gyan, the NDC National Organizer, does not agree with Sir John’s assessment of General Mosquito.
He believes the NDC scribe was performed creditably at the Supreme Court.
He said Asiedu Nketia’s teaching skills became useful when he was being led in evidence by Tsatsu Tsikata, pointing out that the NDC scribe thoroughly explained his points to the admiration of the people in the court room.
Boateng Gyan said Asiedu Nketia treated the NDC members to a stunning performance in court, debunking claims by Sir John that the NDC scribe struggled in the courtroom.
He said he was extremely happy with the live telecast of the proceedings in the court room, noting that the populace would mock Sir John for peddling falsehood about Asiedu Nketia.
