An uphill task confronts Berekum Chelsea when they travel down south to face on-fire Hearts of Oak at the Accra Stadium tomorrow.
The Accra meeting puts the visitors’ three-point lead under threat as a result of the Phobians’ current razor sharp form – scoring five goals in two games, in a space of six days.
Chelsea started the competition on a low profile but have progressed steadily despite losing key players like Emmanuel Clottey, Solomon Asante, Gladson Awako and Richard Kissi Boateng; and with just five games remaining, they look set to replicate the 2010/11 feat when they won the league.
The former Ghana champions have fared very well against Hearts, and news from their camp indicate that they are working tirelessly to at least pick a point and keep their title dream on course.
Hearts on the other are back from Tamale with their heads held up high after recording an impressive 4-0 win over RTU.
The away win, which has heightened the Phobians’ hopes of finishing among the best four, has indeed raised the stakes in the clash.
Asante Kotoko will not have things easy at the Golden City Park, where they will face relegation threatened Arsenals, while Medeama, also a league contender, will host RTU at the T&A Park.
Aduana Stars will welcome Liberty Professionals at the Agyeman Badu Park with Ashgold travelling to Kumasi to face King Faisal.
At Kpando, Heart of Lions will take on Tema Youth, while Amidaus Professionals play as guests of All Stars.
Today, New Edubiase will host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Gyamfi Park.
