Three persons were reported dead at Tesano when a Mercedes Benz bus cargo ran into four   vehicles last Tuesday evening.
The driver of the Benz bus, who bolted after the act, was alleged to have smashed into two other vehicles at Caprice earlier before finally crashing into the four vehicles that were in traffic awaiting  the  green light.
The dead have since been identified as Yaw Nuwor 26, a driver, Lilly Donkor 26, and Uche Udechukwa 26 a Nigerian .
According to the police, more than fifteen persons sustained injuries in the accident but five of the victims are still on admission at the Achimota Government Hospital and 37 Military Hospital receiving medical attention.
The dead has since been deposited at the 37 military hospital morgue for preservation.
Narrating the accident to Daily Guide,  DSP Ernest Acheampong said the accident occurred around 10pm on Tuesday evening.
Information received indicated that the driver, not yet known and in charge of a Mercedes Benz cargo with registration number AS 9352J was from Circle and heading towards Kumasi.
Upon reaching Caprice, Bumarang traffic light, the driver crossed the red light and in the process, crashed into a Kia Rio but  he refused to  stop.
When he further got to amour junction close to police depot traffic light, he again crashed into another vehicle and again failed to stop.
Then on reaching Tesano traffic light, close to the Total filling station, opposite Papaye restaurant, the driver crashed for the third time into a Nissan Micra with registration number GR 9072-13.
This time the driver lost control of the steering, veered off its lane and landed on the opposite lane thus falling on a Kia Septra taxi cabbie with number GC8353-11 which carried two of the deceased persons.
The benz bus cargo dragged the  kia spectra for quite a distance and in the process two other vehicles, which were in the traffic, were affected.
The third deceased was also in a Kia Pride Taxi cabbie with number GW 5942-12, which also received an impact together with an Urvan passenger bus.
The driver after committing the act bolted leaving the victims to their fate.
Two of the victims died on the spot while  the third victim, the Nigerian, died early Wednesday morning at the 37 Military hospital while receiving treatment.
With the help of the personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, the remaining victims, who were trapped in the Urvan passenger vehicles, were removed and rushed to the Achimota hospital for treatment.
The police are still searching for the driver of the Mercedes Benz bus vehicle to help in their investigations.
