President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday hinted that names of all nominated Deputy Ministers would be released for vetting and approval by Parliament by the end of this week.
He said although all the names were ready, consultations were still being made with the substantive Ministers and could be ready by weekend.
President Mahama gave this hint when he swore-in three regional ministers at the Flagstaff House, Kanda.
The regional ministers were; Julius Debrah, Eastern Region; Helen Adzoa Ntoso, Volta Region; and Dr Ephraim Avea Nsoh, Upper East Region.
He said his administration would also decentralize Cabinet by holding meetings in every regional capital, where regional ministers would be invited to attend and provide inputs in such cabinet meetings.
President Mahama said the decentralization of Cabinet would also give them the opportunity to know much about the regions, by assessing their development potentials and challenges.
The President appealed to the regional ministers to move out of their offices to the field where they could inspect development projects, interact with the people and draw government closer to the people they were serving in the communities.
He advised them to seek the advice of the Interior Minister anytime there were issues concerning national security in their regions.
President Mahama appealed to Ministers to work hard to eliminate land and chieftaincy disputes that could hamper the peace and unity of the people.
Helen Adzoa Ntoso, Volta Regional Minister, on behalf of her colleagues, thanked President Mahama for reposing confidence in them and gave the assurance that they would work hard to achieve the goals of the “Better Ghana Agenda”.
