Hon. Woyongo Warns: No Visit Of Pornographic or Cyber Fraud Site

The Upper East Regional Minister, Mark Woyongo has advised some beneficiaries of new rLG laptops not to browse pornographic sites with them or get involved in cyber fraud, rather, they should browse websites that will help in their academic work.
According to him, browsing pornographic sites could affect their studies and even the performance of the laptops, as they could be infested with virus from pornographic sites.
Hon. Woyongo was addressing beneficiary students of brand new laptops distributed under the partnership of the Ghana Education Service, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the rLG Communications Limited, with just about 15 days to general elections.
A total of 566 rLG branded laptops were given out to individual students from the Navrongo campus of the University for Development Studies, Bolgatanga Polytechnic and the St. Boscos and Gbewaa Colleges of Education. The rest were students from Sandema, Navrongo, Bongo, Bawku and Tempane Senior High Schools for their personal use.
The latest distribution is the second batch to be given to selected students from various educational institutions in the Upper East region.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed announced that government intends to distribute a total of 5000 laptops across the country by the end of the year.
According to him, government was determined to see to the development of various sectors of the country through Information Communication Technology (ICT), that is why it is committed to the distribution of laptops to schools and individual students.
