The incident occurred when her lawyer, George Asumani was pleading bail for her.
The possessed prophetess spoke in tongues, which confused people in the courtroom who attempted to escape.
Florence Kekeli Akpene’s action infuriated the trial judge, Ebenezer Osei Darko, who stated that “you can’t put the fear of God in me. I am a Christian and believe in God.”
The peeved judge remanded her to re-appear at a later date.
The prophetess, who after the incantation seemed unaware of her actions, was later briefed by her father and this made her to cry uncontrollable.
Akpene is before the court for allegedly defrauding one Daniel Kuagbenu to a tune of GH¢60,089 under the pretext of preventing evil spirit attacks.
DSP Alex Odonkor disclosed that the accused person’s church is located at Sowutuom Omandjor, while the complainant Daniel Kuagbenu and his family also live in the same vicinity.
The prosecutor narrated that between August 2011 and May 2012 Akpene collected an amount of GH¢60,089 from the complainant after making 18 revelations, claiming if certain rituals were not performed the complainant and the family would perish.
According to him, the complainant, as a result of the revelation, paid between GH¢150 and GH¢8,000 to the prophetess to prepare a concoction to purify the family.
The accused reportedly stated that the complainant’s pregnant wife was expecting twins and required protection.
The complainant consented to it and allowed the accused to prepare a concoction for his wife after which he paid GH¢6,000.
However, the complainant’s wife, after consuming the concoction, allegedly fell unconscious for three days.
A pregnancy test conducted by the doctors also established that she was indeed pregnant.
DSP Odonkor added that a week later the accused collected GH¢6,000, stating that someone had inserted stone particles into the male organ of their son.
He noted that she prepared another concoction for him but the victim fell unconscious for three days.
The complainant subsequently became suspicious of the actions of the accused and reported the matter to the police, which led to her arrest.
