The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has questioned the Co- Managing Director of Melcom, Ramesh Sadhwani and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s (AMA) Director of Works, Victor Mensah in connection to the collapse of the Melcom shopping center.
The arrests follow the directive of President John Dramani Mahama that investigations must be carried out into the Melcom disaster.
The President on Wednesday said those whose negligence led to the tragedy “will pay a price.”
A six-storey Melcom shopping complex collapsed on Wednesday at Achimota but the rescue team has however been able to retrieve about 72 of the victims; nine of whom died.
