John Kumah
Reports reaching Citi News indicate that a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Kumah, is in the grips of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).
It is unclear what led to his arrest, but a member of the NPP Communications team, Richard Nuamah, told Citi News, Mr. Kumah was picked up after appearing on a show at an Accra-based radio station,Okay FM calledGhana Decides.
Meanwhile, other media reports also state that his arrest is in connection with a bank fraud case.
According to Peacefmonline.com, moments before his phone was confiscated, Mr. Kumah said, “I am here together at EOCO with my business consultant, Henry, but as at 9:20am, no-one has told me what crime I’ve committed…whatever it is, I’m sure it is political.”
It will be recalled that Mr. Kumah was some time ago arrested by the Police for alleging that late President John Mills and a Presidential Advisor, Ato Awhoi, had been engaging in a homosexual affair.
He was later released after the Attorney General dropped the charges against him.
