THE LAY President of the Methodist Church Ghana, Brother John E.K Pratt has stressed the need for Christians to commit themselves to their professions and vocations because whatever one does should be to the glory of God.
He further emphasized the need for all Christians to avail themselves of God’s service and lead lives worthy of emulation.
Bro E.K Pratt was speaking at a thanksgiving and send-off service at Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region in honour of out-gone Lay Chairman for the church’s Wenchi Diocese, Brother Isaac Kwabena Sarkodie Boahin.
Brother E.K Pratt noted that it was not only reverend ministers who could be described as doing the work of God but everyone working to advance the cause of people.
For his part, Brother Boahin noted that one of the surest ways to consolidate God’s love was for people to love and serve Him with all their strength and all their heart.
He was grateful to the leadership and members of the Methodist Church for the privilege given him to serve as the Diocesan Lay Chairman for Wenchi Diocese.
He also thanked them for the good working relations he enjoyed when he worked as the lay chairman and promised to offer all the needed assistance to the new Lay Chairman, Brother George Amonoo-Kyeremeh to make his tenure successful.
The Methodist Bishop of Wenchi,  Rt. Rev. Sampson Yamoah and three former diocesan bishops, Rt. Rev James Baffour-Awuah, Rt. Rev Nuh Ben Abubakar and Rt. Rev. Edison Tinsari as well as several past and present diocesan lay chairmen from other dioceses of the church graced the occasion.
