The Former Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah has described the NPP’s proposed education policy as feasible.

According to him, government will only have to redirect more resources to improve all sectors of the education system to make it work.

Prof. Anamuah-Mensah however said without proper investment in education, free education will compromise quality.

He said: “If you look at the bill that is given to students every year from grade A school to community school, you will see items that are not covered by government’s subsidy. These items include text books, examination fees and so on. These are all costs that are paid by parents. They are visible on the bill but they are not part of what is subsidized by government.”

He hence advised government to look at how “to reduce the burden put upon parents because at the end of it all, it is the parents who pay. Without this we will not have quality education.”
